Who Are Heath and Alyssa Padgett?

They took a crazy idea for their honeymoon and turned it into multiple business opportunities and so much more. Let’s look at who this couple is and how they’re setting an example for other RVers.
The Backstory of Heath and Alyssa
Heath and Alyssa were working office jobs in Texas while planning their wedding. While many newlyweds head for a week-long beach trip or an all-inclusive resort, this couple had a different plan. They chose instead to embark on a journey that would involve traveling to all 50 states.
The couple funded their trip with Heath working a job in every state, while Alyssa filmed it. The result of their trip and footage was a documentary called “Hourly America.”
During their extended honeymoon, Heath and Alyssa fell in love with traveling full-time and embraced the lifestyle. They took what they learned from creating their documentary and started their own video production company, a consulting business, and eventually a software business.
As their businesses grew and they gained more experience RVing, Alyssa began writing her first book, “A Beginner’s Guide to Living in an RV.” The couple then took their journey overseas and traveled to New Zealand, Canada, and Europe. They’ve also welcomed their daughter, Ellie, to their travels and began the adventure of parenthood. With their businesses doing incredibly well, the couple settled down in the mountains of Colorado.
The couple continues to work hard and, in June 2021, announced they were building a campground and expecting baby number two.
How Long Have They Been RVing?
The couple hit the road four days after their 2014 wedding. Their 50-state honeymoon adventure was the start of a bigger road trip than the couple could ever have imagined. The couple RVed in all 50 states and Canada, New Zealand, and Europe.
What Kind of RV Do They Have?
The couple most recently traveled in a 40-foot Winnebago Forza. They loved that this RV had a washing machine and dryer. One of the best features for the couple was the dual workstations that allow them to get work done while on the road. However, in December 2020, the couple announced they’d purchased a home and planned to buy a campground. Even so, their adventures are far from over.
What Projects Have Heath and Alyssa Worked On?
Heath and Alyssa are one of the hardest-working couples you’ll find in the RV world. It seems ever since their wedding and honeymoon adventure, the couple has been hustling. Heath does weekly interviews with nomadic entrepreneurs for his podcast “The RV Entrepreneur,” and he co-founded CampgroundBooking.com.
Alyssa wrote the best-selling book “A Beginner’s Guide to Living in an RV.” She also spends a large chunk of her time writing and planning for the RV Entrepreneur Summit.
The couple has sold CampgroundBooking.com. They’re choosing to invest their time and energy into a dream three years in the making. They purchased 80 acres of land to convert into a campground.
Building a campground will take time as it requires plans and approvals and a ridiculous amount of labor. So for the short term, the couple will have a large spot with an incredible view that’s only 15 minutes from a national park.
