The Backstory of Mortons On The Move
Tom and Cait Morton left their jobs and hit the road in September of 2015 in hopes of having fun on the road, seeing cool stuff, and finding a new place to settle down. But as it turns out, they loved RV life so much that they decided to keep doing it! The Mortons travel with their dogs, Mocha and Bella, in a DRV Mobile Suites 32TK3 Fifth Wheel RV.
Since they started RVing, Tom and Cait have learned a lot about the RVing lifestyle. They’ve also gotten involved in many amazing things in the RVing industry! The Mortons are co-stars on The RVers TV show on Discovery and PBS, they’re producers of Go North on YouTube & Amazon Prime. They’re co-founders and instructors of RV Masterclass, and are also authors of an RV travel guide.
What Type of RV Does Mortons On The Move Travel With?
The Mortons travel in a 2005 33’ DRV 32TK3 fifth wheel with a rear living area, 3 slides, and a big telescoping kitchen. They’ve done a lot of upgrades to their rig to suit their life on the road.
Some cool features about their 32TK3 are the bathroom and vanity in the bedroom, the double pane windows, the abundance of windows, and the short length of the rig.
Additional upgrades include a 2700-watt solar system, lithium batteries, adding a Truma on-demand water heater, replacing the flooring and furniture, and replacing the pin box with a Gen Y gooseneck.
In 2021 they also purchased an overlanding truck camper in addition to their fifth wheel.

Tom Morton has an electrical engineering background, so when the opportunity arose to put RV batteries to the test, he jumped on it. In this video, he lab tests lead-acid, AGM, and lithium RV batteries to compare performance.
From these tests he was able to calculate that lithium batteries are cheaper per energy than any other option. He also found that lead-acid batteries might not be as good as they claim.
