Pitch a Tent at This RV-Friendly Gentleman’s Club

If you’re looking for a unique RV-friendly stopover, the Kongo Klub Gentleman’s Club in Mitchell, S.D., may fit the bill.

While you won’t be parking at the base of a mountain range, you certainly won’t lack entertainment.

Let’s take a peek into this less than family-friendly camping spot…a perfect hack for kinky RV-loving.

Does the Kongo Klub Really Have Free Camping?

Yes, the Kongo Klub really offers free camping to RVers and others. You’ll be dry camping in the parking lot, so come prepared with a power source, a supply of freshwater, and anything else you’ll need for a quick overnight stop.

Pheasant season and the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally draw crowds to the location every year.

You might struggle to find a parking spot for your RV during these peak times, so plan accordingly.

It’s always good to have a plan B when camping here.

The Benefits of Spending the Night at This Strip Club

The gentleman’s club may not provide any RV or camping-related services, but it does have a full bar, food, a video game room, special events, and adult entertainment. You can play pool or darts, try out the video lottery, or enjoy a full bar with bar food like chicken fingers, pizza, and French fries.

The camping may be free, but the rest of the club is not. Be careful if you’re on a budget. Still, this location offers a unique experience. You may even get a good story for the next time you’re around a campfire with friends.

The club, the area’s most popular gentlemen’s club, hosts live entertainment Monday through Saturday starting at 4 p.m. Before COVID-19, they ran events year-round and took part in things like Rodeo Week and the Sturgis Bike Rally. Hopefully, they’ll be able to provide those kinds of events again soon.

Why This Might Not Be the Best Parking Spot for You

Obviously, those traveling with their family, especially young children, may want to steer clear of this one. Aside from the less than family-friendly activities inside the club, there’s also a lot of traffic in and around the club late into the night.

Whether you’re camping in an RV or a tent, the noise and foot traffic all night may not provide the most restful stopover.

How Do You Get to the Kongo Klub?

The Kongo Klub is located right off I-90 in the town of Mitchell, S.D., about 80 miles west of Sioux Falls.

You’ll drive right by this free camping spot if you’re heading west on I-90 toward Rapid City or the many popular attractions found in the Black Hills. The club also sits one mile north of Lake Mitchell.

Is Spending the Night at the Kongo Klub Worth It?

If you’re looking for a free spot to park and would enjoy some adult entertainment, the Kongo Klub may be a great stop for you. If you’re simply looking for a free camping location, the local Cabela’s offers free parking and sits closer to I-90. Cabela’s will also be more family-friendly.

An RV-friendly gentleman’s club may be a great spot for some RVers, but it’s not for everyone. Would you consider staying here?
