Who Is The Bucket List Family?

We typically share about full-time RVers who explore North America. Through blogs, vlogs, and photos, these travelers take all of us on their adventures. However, today, we’re shining the spotlight on worldwide adventurers.

The Bucket List Family has traveled to 65 countries, and most of them have been with their kids. Their story is an inspiring one, so let’s dive in and learn more about where they’ve been, what they’ve done, and where they are now!

Who Is The Bucket List Family?

The Gee family is The Bucket List Family. Garrett and Jessica met in 2009 on a service mission trip to Russia. Later, they married and had Dorothy, Manilla, and Calihan. On August 15, 2015, they sold everything in their apartment and set off on a journey around the world. They started a family bucket list, and for three years, the Gee family traveled the world, visiting 65 countries. 

Recently, they renovated a bungalow in Hawaii and now have a home base. Garrett is in charge of the photography, videography, and editing of The Bucket List social media accounts and YouTube channel. Jessica’s role is running the social media accounts and working with their sponsors and other business collaborations.

Where Was The Bucket List Family’s First Adventure?

Garrett and Jessica set off for Tahiti in 2015 with their friends Branson and Shelly Hadfield. At the time, Dorothy and Manilla were their only children. But this trip was a couples-only adventure. Garrett, Jessica, Branson, and Shelly set off for French Polynesia and visited Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Rangiroa during this vacation getaway.

Where Has The Bucket List Family Traveled Since Then?

After The Bucket List family left the United States, they toured French Polynesia, New Zealand, and Australia. Then they set off to Singapore and Thailand to close out 2015. The Gee family has visited Bali, the Caribbean islands, Japan, and European countries such as Turkey, Austria, and Greece.

Calihan was born in Utah in 2018. Since his birth, The Bucket List family has traveled to Costa Rica, Brazil, Morocco, and Tanzania. In August of 2018, they posted their last vlog as a full-time traveling family before they moved into their new home in Hawaii. However, the family still travels and has recently been to Bermuda and Rwanda.

The Bucket List family traveled full-time for three years. But even after they bought and remodeled a bungalow in Hawaii, they still head out on adventures. Here are their top three YouTube videos, each with over eight million views!

1. 5 YR OLD Scuba Dives with GREAT WHITE SHARKS in Mexico!!

This video from 2019 has over 22 million views. The family traveled to Mexico. In this vlog, Dorothy and Manilla take over and share about their diving experience surrounded by great white sharks.

The video footage of the kids in the cage starts about 20 minutes into the YouTube. Dorothy explains, “Sharks seem scary at first because of how they look on tv, because of their reputation, because of the unknown…but when you really watch them, they’re beautiful.”

2. 5 YR OLD FREE DIVES THE BLUE HOLE!! /// WEEK 105: Great Blue Hole, Belize

This video from 2018 has over 10 million views. The Gee family rented a bungalow and a house boat and split their time in each during their visit to Belize. Dorothy and Manilla jumped into the infamous Blue Hole.

But it wasn’t just the kids overcoming their fears at the Blue Hole. Garrett and Jessica were a bit scared to scuba dive out into the abyss. In this video, The Bucket List Family shares incredible footage of the underwater world in Belize.

3. BABY SWIM LESSONS – The Ultimate Routine to Help Our 2 YR OLD Swim and Deep Dive Underwater

Finally, this video from 2020 has over 8.2 million views. In the video, Garrett teaches Calihan how to swim in their private pool in Hawaii. Garrett narrates while video footage shows how he goes about helping Calihan get comfortable in the water.

He explains that one helpful tool is putting toys in the shallow end to encourage kids to put their faces under the water. Garrett also talks about trust-building and how important being able to listen to instructions is to the process.
