Meet Dennis and Liz of Eat See RV! They are two foodies on a mission to see more of the world in their Class C Motorhome. Learn more about their RV journey and follow their adventures as they eat, work, and RV across North America.
The Backstory of Eat See RV
Dennis and Liz’s RV journey began in 2013 when the travel bug hit them hard. They knew they wanted to see the world, but their stationary jobs in Orlando, FL. didn’t give them the flexibility to travel as much as they wanted. So Dennis, a bartender, and Liz, a school teacher, decided to take up real estate investing with the goal of traveling full-time.
Dennis and Liz worked hard for the next four years and learned everything they could about real estate investing and full-time RV life. They even started their own company, Seasoned Funding. By June of 2017, they were finally ready to hit the road, showing that good things come to those who wait and work for it!
Eat See RV’s original rig was a brand new 2017 Grand Design Momentum 328M Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler. And while they enjoyed the luxury of this 35′ 11″ RV for the first leg of their journey, they quickly found it just didn’t fit their lifestyle.
Dennis and Liz wanted something smaller and more well-suited for exploring and boondocking than RV park living. So, after a year and a half, they downsized to a 2010 Fleetwood Pulse 24S Class C RV, which they fully renovated to meet their needs.
Since hitting the road, they’ve traveled to 37 states, three countries and visited 42 national parks and monuments. Dennis and Liz travel full-time with their two cats, Pilar and Oliver, who seem to enjoy RV living just as much as their parents.
What Type of RV Does Eat See RV Use?
When Eat See RV bought their Class C Motorhome, it was nearly ten years old and had 41,000 miles on it. It also had a dated interior with bulky furniture that didn’t suit Dennis and Liz’s adventure-seeking meets work-from-home vibe. So, they took on the RV renovation, giving it a tropical tiki feel with functional upgrades.
2010 Fleetwood Pulse 24S
The 2010 Fleetwood Pulse 24S is 25’ 7” long, 7’ wide, and 11’ 3” high, with a GVWR of 11,030 lbs. It has a 29-gallon freshwater tank, a 33-gallon grey water tank, and a 33-gallon black water tank. Additionally, this Class C motorhome has a 6-gallon water heater and 25,000 BTU furnace for those cold travel days. The fuel capacity is 26.4 gallons, and the propane tank capacity is 24 gallons.
While their RV is only 25 feet long, it still gives Dennis and Liz an ample amount of living space. Their Fleetwood Pulse features a full wall slide out and an above-the-cab bed, giving them enough room to move about in the RV, even when the slide is in! It also features a kitchenette with a two-burner stove, convection microwave, pantry, and a Dometic absorption style fridge. Best of all, their tiny home on wheels has a 3-piece dry bath with a built-in closet!
Interior Renovations
During the renovation, they removed the original sleeper sofa and added a sleek bench seat from Ikea. Opposite the couch, Dennis and Liz built a desk for their workspace, which doubles as an entertainment center. The desk has a motorized TV lift, so the TV stays out of the way until they’re ready to watch a show.
In the kitchen, they added an extra pantry cabinet for storage, and they replaced the sink and faucet with larger units for washing dishes. The one modification they are still holding out on is a composting toilet for their bathroom. It wasn’t in the renovation budget, but don’t worry! It’s on their wishlist for future upgrades.
Exterior Renovations
Lastly, Dennis and Liz added solar components so they could eat, see, and RV off-grid. The solar system features AIMS 120 watt flexible solar panels to power their 100 amp-hour lithium (LiFePO4) batteries.
Driving modifications to their motorhome include a suspension upgrade with Fox Shocks and Bilstein B6 (22-249326) Struts. The suspension upgrade was added to decrease the bumps and sway of their Fleetwood Class C.
