These RVs Cost More Than Your House

Choosing an RV over a house may mean making certain sacrifices. RVs simply don’t have all of the comforts of a home.

Or do they?

You may change your mind after seeing some of the luxury RVs on the higher end of today’s market. Some have flashy color schemes, while others are more understated. Most are Class A coaches, and all of them are first class. (You fifth-wheel fans have something extra special to check out, too.)

Let’s take a look!

What Makes a Luxury RV So Expensive?

Unless you live in a mansion, these top-of-the-line RVs probably cost more than your house. Yet, there’s such demand for these luxury RVs that many companies offer them. In fact, we see them often in our travels, and you probably do, too.

Some of the RVs on our list land just under a cool million dollars. Meanwhile, others cost considerably more. Why the high price tag?

For one thing, there’s lots of sophisticated engineering that goes into these models. You’ll find top-notch chassis and mechanical parts as well.

Generally speaking, they’re also not made in large quantities. That adds to the quality and avoids issues mass-produced RVs may face.

The components that go into these luxurious rigs cost more, too. That includes big-name appliances and high-quality furnishings. The interior detailing often includes upscale materials like exotic hardwoods, full-grain leather, and imported stone.

But it isn’t just about the parts. The price also buys the prestige associated with certain brands.

5 of the Most Luxurious RVs on the Market

Rather than listing all the specs and describing each amenity in detail, we narrowed things down. We’ve listed the fanciest feature of our top five luxury RVs.

The prices listed here are the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices. Think of them as a ballpark figure. Prices can vary depending on the features and options included, as well as special deals.

1. Newmar King Aire

About: Newmar’s crown jewel, the King Aire, comes in three floor plans. These 45-foot models include European-style cabinetry with a diamond gloss finish. They also have quartz countertops, tile floors, and Italian full-grain leather furnishings.

High-quality appliances from the likes of Viking and Wolf outfit the kitchen. Entertain yourself with any of the three big-screen TVs connected to a Bose sound system. Or rest on the king-sized bed before the fireplace.

The King Aire sits on a Spartan K3 chassis. It includes safety features like a Mobileye and OnGuard collision mitigation technology. There’s a 12.5 kW diesel generator and two lithium-ion power packs with inverters.

Cost: Starts at $1.3 million

Fanciest Feature: Enter the master bath, and you might feel like you’re in a luxury hotel. You’ll step onto marble flooring before a custom mosaic wall.

2. Entegra Cornerstone

About: The 2021 model contains upscale features like quartz countertops and Villa Italian leather furniture. The model boasts technological enhancements as well. These include the Xite XSG3 radio system and 43-inch exterior Samsung Smart TV.

The sliding window behind the sink allows a pleasant cross-breeze through the interior. The kitchen also contains stylish stainless steel appliances.

The VegaTouch coach control puts you in control of your electronics. You can even heat and cool the Italian leather cockpit seats.

Cost: Starts around $750,000

Fanciest Feature: The large cedar-lined wardrobe features automatic, motion-activated lighting.

3. Luxe Gold

About: Going against the grain a bit, this Luxe model provides the gold standard for fifth wheels. Step inside, and you may not believe it’s a trailer!

Besides being elegant, the heavier components lend this model solidity. The Luxe Gold comes in three floor plans up to 42’11”.

Luxe calls the Gold a “true four-season fifth wheel.” The insulated walls, roof, and chassis certainly help with that.

With a curb weight roughly between 15,000 and 19,000 pounds, you’re going to need a big truck for this one!

Cost: Starts at $123,059

Fanciest Feature: It may not be swanky, but this unit offers an impressive amount of storage. You get both basement and attic storage in this model. Luxe found an excellent use for spaces that usually go to waste.

4. Foretravel IH-45

About: Foretravel’s flagship model combines lavish and sensible design into a perfect marriage of luxury.

A Cummins X15 605 engine powers this 45-foot diesel pusher. It rides on a TravelRide II chassis with independent front suspension.

It manages to contain a bath and a half inside. Additionally, it includes residential features such as washer/dryer connections. It also offers an incredible amount of storage, including well-designed closets with floor-to-ceiling drawers.

Other features include a 12.5 kW generator and air disc brakes all around. When it’s time to rest, step across heated floors to the Slumber Ease luxury king bed.

Cost: Starts at $1.4 million

Fanciest Feature: The amazing master bathroom, with its double vanities, may take your breath away. The granite countertops and gold accents match the kitchen and half-bath. This inner sanctum also offers a tremendous sense of privacy and spaciousness.

5. Featherlite Vantare Platinum Plus

About: Featherlite starts with a Prevost chassis and redesigns it with state-of-the-art comforts and yacht-quality construction.

No indulgence seems out of the question, either. Extras include a motorcycle that’s custom painted to match the exterior. It also boasts bespoke design elements such as imported crystals, Inca marble, and pearlized Italian leather.

The more functional parts are gorgeous, too, including a Sub-Zero freezer, stainless steel dishwasher, plasma TV, and built-in treadmill. A galley and spacious central area offer lots of room for entertaining. Touch screens let you control electronic functions. Tasteful LED lighting gives this coach a classy ambiance.

Cost: $2.5 million

Fanciest Feature: Talk about a toy hauler. There’s more than 500 cubic feet of storage in the underbay. It can easily house that matching motorcycle.

Is Buying a Luxury RV Worth It?

For most, every financial commitment requires serious consideration. Many people do a lot of research before they spend. Therefore, a top-of-the-line luxury coach might not make the wish list. Other, cheaper coaches can offer some amenities without the steep cost.

For those with a much bigger budget, though, one of these premium models could be your dream RV. If that’s the case, aim high!

While these aren’t quite mansions on wheels, it’s hard to imagine an RV with more comforts. These high-end RVs are proof that there’s a rig out there to meet everyone’s needs – and their price range. How much are you willing to spend on your dream rig?
